About Estrella sintered stone
Estrella is a sintered stone range with marble, travertine, concrete and metal looks, like Calacatta Borghini, Patagonia Gold and Travertino shown above. Sintered stone is made by pressing natural minerals and firing them at very high temperatures, giving a hard, practical surface.
Why choose sintered stone
- Heat resistant, so hot pans will not mark it
- UV stable, suitable for outdoor kitchens and braai areas
- Very low porosity, no sealing and hard to stain
- Large, thin slabs, for islands, wall cladding and tabletops
Porcelain is very hard on top but can chip if the edge takes a hard knock, so we usually recommend a mitred edge on kitchen tops. Compare it with other options on our porcelain and sintered stone page.
